LANSING, Ill., Nov. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Rising stars from some of the hottest television shows on ABC, NBC and Disney have partnered with Land O’Frost, America’s third-largest lunchmeat brand, to raise money for charity efforts benefitting Nashville-area residents. This philanthropic program is aimed to help those still in need six months after devastating floods damaged more than 10,000 properties in middle Tennessee.

To assist with ongoing relief efforts, Land O’Frost partnered with eight prominent child stars, asking them to custom design and autograph classic lunch boxes to be auctioned online at www.biddingforgood.com. The goal of this program is to raise much needed funds to support volunteers who are helping residents and business owners recover from the May 2010 floods and help keep the needs of the region in the national spotlight. All proceeds raised from this special program will benefit Hands On Nashville, the non-profit organization that took a leadership position in recovery efforts shortly after the disaster struck.

Program participants include many prominent child actors from both television and film. These celebrity contributors include:

  • Molly Quinn (and the entire cast) from ABC’s hit show “Castle”

Nathan Fillion: ‘Castle is easy work’

posted by Jessica | with No Comments | in Articles, Nathan Fillion

Castle star Nathan Fillion has claimed that working on the ABC crime drama is “not terribly challenging”.

However, the actor told the Futon Critic that it was a struggle to keep the series fresh after three seasons.

“This is easy work,” he suggested. “We’re not pushing the limits of television technology or breaking down any story taboo barrier. It’s just coming from the heart and playing the characters.”

He added: “The challenge comes…with the hours [spent filming]. Trying to look fresh, trying to seem fresh after doing it 60 times.”

Fillion also suggested that potential romance between his character Richard Castle and Detective Beckett (Stana Katic) could ruin the pair’s work dynamic.

“In replace of sex they have solving murders,” he suggested. “The time when… they’re actually getting along [is when] all the pieces are starting to fit and they go, ‘Ah, we know who our guy is!’ That’s when they get along best.”

WARNING: SPOILERS!!!!!!!

When are we going to get some more Castle-Beckett goodness on Castle? — Samantha

ADAM: After the winter break, you’re definitely going to see the duo go at it — just not in the way you might want. When one of Castle’s old friends from prep school is suspected in his wife’s murder, Castle and Beckett’s friendly partnership is put to the test. Beckett is convinced that Castle’s friend is guilty of this crime, and Castle, who’s known this guy and really looked up to him, can’t conceive that he was the murderer,” creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells us. “We uncover some secrets about the guy’s past and challenge Castle’s point of view, but you get to see Beckett and Castle on completely opposite sides of an investigation.”

Scoop: Will Castle finally hook up with Beckett?

posted by Jessica | with No Comments | in Articles, Season Three, Spoilers

Warning: This definitely contains spoilers about an upcoming episode!

Now this is one mother-of-a-teaser for you Castle fans who’ve been aching for Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) to seal the deal. Talking exclusively to EW, Katic teased that all their sexual tension may finally lead to something on Jan. 10. “They are going to get super close in episode 13. Closer than they’ve ever gotten before,” the actress said while walking the red carpet of the American Music Awards on Sunday. “I’ll leave you with that.”Katic keeps saying to anyone who will listen that these two belong together. “They are meant to be. I think they can be a couple and still be spicy and funny. Everyone else is like, ‘Oh no we can’t do that. That will ruin it. That will kill the show.’ [A Moonlighting] curse has come up. But no way, man. Don’t believe in it at all.”

Until then, obstacles continue to arise. Just this week, the ABC drama began production on the Jan. 3 episode that stars Laura Prepon as Natalie Gray, the actress who’s been cast as Nikki Heat in the movie version of Castle’s book Heat Wave. As fans know, the author based Nikki on his beloved Beckett. So will sparks fly when Natalie shadows Beckett as she investigates a millionaire matchmaker death with Castle? “She comes in to trail Beckett and study her, learn about her,” says Fillion, who also walked the red carpet Sunday. “Castle is really cheesed because she has never read the books. She’s only read the screenplay and she’s just into the character and not the words or the man who created Nikki Heat. At first he was like, ‘I can’t believe they picked her,’ and now he’s all, ‘I can’t believe she isn’t paying attention to me.’ It causes some friction at the workplace to say the least. He likes to be the center of attention.”

“Beckett is OK with it at first,” adds Katic. “Beckett’s the one who invites her in and figures it will be no different than Castle following her but then it starts to get a little too Single White Female.”
