posted by Jessica | with No Comments | in Castle News

Today, March 9th, 2011, is the second anniversary of Castle. Two years ago, Rick Castle met Kate Beckett and started shadowing her on her murder investigations. It sure has been a rocky road for the two of them, but we’ve enjoyed every single minute of it. From the unique cases, to the tension between Castle and Beckett, to the supporting characters such as the humorous Ryan and Esposito, to Castle’s loving and supporting family, it has been a blast. Here’s to many more years to come, with great seasons filled with amazing episodes. Here’s to Castle and Beckett’s relationship and seeing it grow and eventually become more than friendship. Here’s to delving into characters even more, to see what they’re all about, and learning about their pasts. Here’s to more episodes which keep us sitting on the very edge of our seats. Here’s to the writers, the producers, the costume designers, the hair and make-up artists, the set designers, and everyone else part of the creative team for keeping us entertained with each episode. And last, but certainly not least, here’s to the cast: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Susan Sullivan, and Molly Quinn. Thank you to each and everyone of them for being so brilliantly talented, so much to make us love each and every character. Happy 2nd anniversary, Castle! ABC Renews Castle For Season 4!

posted by Jessica | with No Comments | in Castle News, Season Four

ABC announced early pick-ups for the 2011-12 season of “Castle,” “Cougar Town,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Middle,” “Modern Family” and “Private Practice.”

A solid mix of promising new series and proven returning hits helped the network achieve a strong start to the 2010-11 TV season. Season to date among Adults 18-49, ABC delivers 4 of the Top 10 highest-rated TV shows, the most for any network, including the Top 2 scripted programs. In fact among young adults, the network claims TV’s No. 1 comedy (“Modern Family”), the No. 1 drama (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and the No. 1 unscripted series (“Dancing with the Stars”). In Total Viewers, the network airs 2 of the Top 4 programs, including America’s No. 1 most-watched TV show overall with “Dancing with the Stars.” Led by Emmy-winning “Modern Family,” ABC’s 2-hour Wednesday night comedy block continues to resonate with viewers in its second year, surging by 15% in Total Viewers and by 14% in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic from the same point last season.

“CASTLE”
When viewers first met Richard Castle — a famous mystery novelist and divorced father raising his teenage daughter, while being kept grounded by his Broadway diva mother — he was creatively blocked. But when the NYPD questioned him in connection with a series of murders staged to imitate crime scenes from his books, Castle found inspiration in NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, a bright and aggressive homicide detective with a fascination for odd and offbeat cases stemming from the years-old unsolved murder of her own mother. Though they instantly clashed, sparks of another sort began to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Castle stepped in to help find the copycat killer. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle’s writer intuition and Beckett’s creative detective work.

The series stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as Detective Kate Beckett, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, with Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers.

“Castle” is produced by ABC Studios. Andrew Marlowe is creator/executive producer, with Rob Bowman, Laurie Zaks, David Amann and Armyan Bernstein also executive producers.

Congratulations to Castle, the cast, and the crew! Here’s to another year of our beloved show and this fansite!!

Examiner’s Picks for Best Guilty Pleasure TV of 2010

posted by Jessica | with No Comments | in Castle News

Castle (ABC) – There are a ton of police dramas on television these days. Maybe not literally, but it certainly feels like it! And in a sea of such heaviness, it’s just nice to have one that’s a little more fun. We don’t watch Castle for the jurisdiction or to learn anything about tactical maneuvers or protocol; instead we watch for the witty banter between the lead characters, who bicker like an old married couple but always have a hint of a smile on their faces as they roll their eyes, which keeps their relationships– and our interest– fresh. This show also is one of the rare ones that features the mystery component of the WhoDunIt? in the old-school, Sherlock Holmes-y sense. The sense of danger is never so great you can’t get wrapped up without fearing your own next door neighbor. And honestly, the fact that the sixteen-year-old helps her dad solve so many crimes just makes our own sixteen-year-old self cheer in triumph!
