Edit: From another source, confirming that Castle will be at 2012 Comic Con!
The House of Mouse has typically stuck with the SDCC demographic and in the past brought only their fantasy or sci-fi shows to Ballroom 20. With only two returning shows that fit the bill this year, we hope they expand their offerings and allow one or two of our favorite comedies to tag along for the ride. That’s not to take away anything from those two returning shows, because they come as major fan favorites and with serious Comic-Con pedigree.
The first is Once Upon A Time, the Lost-meets-Fables series from writers/creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. It just finished a successful rookie season and ended on a cliffhanger that radically changes the makeup of the series going forward. Kitsis and Horowitz also wrote for J. J. Abrams’ Lost, and Once Upon A Time felt very similar with its flashbacks to the main characters’ fairy tale beginnings. They must have also learned a thing or two about baiting an audience too long without a payoff, because they clearly took a chance at shaking up their ratings hit after just one season.
Also returing is Castle, or more like “Nathan Fillion and the cast of the hit TV show, Castle“. Fillion is really the big draw here – the Mayor of Comic-Con could read the phone book and pack ‘em in – but that’s not to say Castle has been steadily building a sizeable audience going into its fifth season. What else can we say about this, other than check out our coverage of last year’s panel and see for yourself why the show – and the panel – is a “can’t miss”.
Now for our wish-list. Other networks have seen success in bringing comedies to the convention. Hey, everyone needs a good laugh after spending hours in lines hoping to get into their favorite panels, right? We hope ABC understands this, too, and brings our two favorite comedies on the network, Modern Family and Happy Endings, to SDCC for the first time. Both are favorites among con attendees, and we think the lively cast on the two should make for some memorable moments during their panels. One can only hope, right?
Please be aware that this could change at any time, but as of right now, Castle is scheduled to be at this year’s Comic Con!
It’s never too early for Comic Con news. Just like last year all 4 days are already sold out. On the plus side news is just starting to trickle in at Seat42f on which shows and movies will and won’t be at Comic Con this year. Check back for more updates as all of the studios and networks are having their big Comic Con meetings. Complete details should start to roll out over the next few weeks. We will continue to update this list as we get word on other shows and movies making the trip to San Diego Comic Con2012.

I’m not sure if it’s safe to watch all of this, if you’re trying to remain spoiler free. But for those who dare, here is the entire panel of Castle at Comic-Con this year. A huge thank you to the uploader of these videos.
Sunday, July 24
“Castle” panel from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. in 6BCF: After the smashing success of the Q&A panel last season, “Castle” returns with scheduled panelists, including Nathan Fillion (Richard Castle), Jon Huertas (Detective Tony Esposito), Seamus Dever (Detective Kevin Ryan), Tamala Jones (Medical Examiner Lanie Parish), Susan Sullivan (Martha Rodgers) and Molly Quinn (Alexis Castle). Fans will be treated to exclusive video highlights, bonus footage from the upcoming DVD release of Season 3 and an exclusive Comic Con poster and notebook giveaway. The moderator will be Will Keck of TV Guide Magazine. After the panel, the panelists will participate in a special autograph session at the Marvel Entertainment Booth (#2329) from 2:15-3:00 p.m.
While it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, there’s a strong possibility that Castle will be involved at Comic-Con again this year. We’ll make sure to keep you updated on any news regarding the show’s appearance at the convention!
Last year, ABC had the sci-fi reboot V as well as the super hero family series No Ordinary Family to promote, but both were cancelled in May. Returning, however, is Nathan Fillion’s Castle, which was an early pick-up for a fourth season. It’s a sure bet that the show will be back at the con this year, not only because Fillion is the Pied Piper of Comic-Con, but because Marvel is launching a graphic-novel tie-in to the series this fall.
Movie Web posted interviews with Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Tamala Jones, Molly Quinn, Jon Huertas and Seamus Dever, as well as Andrew Marlowe on their website from Comic Con a few weeks ago. You can click here to view the interviews. I’ve only watched a couple. They don’t really delve into spoilers, but watch at your own risk anyway.
The following videos came from OZgirl1 on youtube. Thanks so much for filming Comic-Con for the rest of us to see and posting your videos online. If you would like me to remove them from the site, please let me know, and I will. Otherwise, thanks for sharing.
There’s not many photos of Nathan, Stana, and the rest of the cast @ Comic-Con that are available yet. But however, I did find a few photos of Nathan, Stana, and Jon arriving at the event. You can find those in the gallery. Also, keep an eye out, as I update the site with more photos from the event, hopefully of all the cast.
