I’m not sure if this is old news or not, but you can now purchase both the Castle trading cards and the Castle board game at Cryptozoic’s website. I’ve added links to all of the products in the sidebar, for your convenience.

There’s been a murder, and the stars of ABC’s Castle are on the case! In this easy-to-play murder mystery card game, 2–5 players will play as their favorite characters from the show as they collect and use investigation cards to narrow down the suspects until they discover who’s guilty!

Castle: The Detective Card Game offers two ways to play. You can play a single game, which simulates a single episode from the show, or you can play a whole season. If you play a single episode, whoever finds the killer wins the game. If you play a season match, you play multiple games until one of the players has won three games. Do you have what it takes to make a great detective?

News Update: 2012 Cryptozoic Castle Seasons 1 and 2 Trading Cards

Jul 4 • by Jessica • No CommentsArticles, Season One, Season Two, Trading Cards

Remember awhile back when we mentioned that a board game, as well as trading cards, were in the works for Castle? Well, here’s some more information about those trading cards! They sound incredibly awesome and I can’t wait to start my collection when they are released!

Since premiering in 2009, Castle has emerged as one of the most dependable shows on network TV. With its blend of comedy and intrigue, it focuses on the oddball pairing of an author with a member of the NYPD. The chemistry between stars Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic certainly helps too. Following its continued success, 2012 Cryptozoic Castle Seasons 1 and 2 trading cards focus on the show’s earliest moments.

The 72-card 2012 Cryptozoic Castle Seasons 1 and 2 base set centers on episodic recaps of the first 34 episodes that aired between March, 2009 and May, 2010. Collectors can look for images from the show as well as short write ups summarizing the action.

Cryptozoic is promising both autographs and costume cards for the set. While no specific names have been announced so far, the company has said that main cast members will be signing. Having signed for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Serenity, Fillion has shown a willingness to sign in the past. That may bode well here. Collectors can also look for signatures from recurring guests.

Most of Cryptozoic’s sets have had two basic insert sets. 2012 Cryptozoic Castle Seasons 1 and 2 expands to include a third. Behind the Scenes shows the on-set shenanigans when the cameras aren’t rolling. Character Bios showcase the personalities that populate Castle. Finally, there’s Scene of the Crime that looks at cases the show tackles.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.

Castle Board Game & Trading Cards

Cryptozoic Entertainment is adding to its licensed properties with the announcement at Toy Fair that it has acquired a license for ABC’s Castle and will be producing a board game and trading card set based on the hit show.
Although the specific game play mechanics are yet to be revealed, a spokesperson for Cryptozoic told ICv2 that the Castle:  Murder Mystery Board Game will “be a mystery game following the basic structure of the show.”  The game, for one to six players ages 15+, will take 30-45 minutes to play.
The Castle Season 1-2 Trading Cards will contain all of Cryptozoic’s usual elements, including show art and character images, plus autograph cards, wardrobe cards, and more.
Both the Castle Board Game and the Castle Trading Cards will be released fall of 2012.
